Although I have never seen the movie, I would guess “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes”.
Indeed a somewhat ingenious choice, given all the news of potentially lethal vegetables around us!

Good thinking, but I have not seen the classic killer tomatoes either. So I had a different one in mind…

O. K. it is John Carpenter’s “Dark Star”. Great SF satire and that “beachball” is one of the best movie aliens ever.
