Good guess (and an iconic scene), but wrong direction – film-wise and literally: She did not try to escape sideways after all :)

Time to solve this: it is Spielbergs “close encounter of the third kind” from 1977. There Lacombe (aka François Truffaut) shows the distinctive 5-tone sequence using Kodaly’s hand sign “notation”.
I thought this was an easy one… people even run around with T-shirts showing the signs, these days:
